Concepts
The four ideas behind FluidZones: profile, launch sequence, layout and zone.
Once these four ideas click, the rest of the app is easy to read.
Profile#
A profile, also called a scene, is a named set of apps with a layout for each window. You might have one for coding, one for writing and one for meetings. Everything you launch, schedule or share is a profile.
Launch sequence#
The Launch Sequence is the ordered list of apps in a profile. FluidZones opens them one by one, in order, with an optional pause between apps.
Layout and zone#
A layout says where a window goes on the screen. Built-in presets cover halves, quarters and thirds. With Premium you can draw your own layouts, made of zones, including across several monitors.
The main window#
The window has three columns: Profiles on the left, the list of installed apps in the middle, and Launch Sequence on the right. The bar at the bottom has Themes, History and Settings, the app version and a clock.
Closing the window does not quit FluidZones: it keeps running in the menu bar so shortcuts, schedules and launch links keep working. Quit it from the menu bar or with ⌘Q.
